I did mind maps with 3rd years for vocabulary revision in French. Students are given a topic eg food/clothes/weather etc. For food revision students have the word for 'food' in centre of page. They then do their own mind map using headings such as 'vegetables', 'fruit', meat', 'dairy' etc. and use different colours for each section. Students enjoyed doing the exercise and will have their mind maps for further revision.
