Communication, information processing, working with others!

A quick note about the Walking Trail of Athy completed by the LCA hotel, catering and tourism class.
Many skills were used by the students to prepare a trail of the town, find out information about each of the places of interest, prepare notes, prepare light refreshments afterwards, etc.
I found the students were very interested and enthusiastic during all the preparations and worked well together as a group.
Communication skills were very important in telling everyone about the places of interest. Most were quite shy when it came to talking out in front of their peers, more similar work would benefit them all. The hospitality provided afterwards with refreshment again allowed the students to use their communication skills, and some people outshone themselves in how well they did.
Overall, this key assignment was a great exercise to use many of the key skills and allowed everyone partake at their own level.
